A : Batelco Bulk SMS is SMS purchasing scheme which enables customers to communicate with their staff and clients in an efficient manner.

Q : What do I need to use the Batelco Bulk SMS service?

A : All you need to use Batelco Bulk SMS is access to the Internet, a valid credit card, and a list of mobile phone numbers you wish to communicate with.

Q : Do my messages still get received in case the mobile phone of the recipient is turned off or out of network range?

A : Typically, the mobile network will keep trying to send the message through based on the validity period you set when you send the message. Batelco Bulk SMS sets a default validity of 2 days (unless it is change) until the message discarded.

Q : How long will my message take to be delivered?

A : Generally, your Bulk SMS messages will be delivered within seconds, however, this may vary on the volume of messages you submit.

Q : Can I be charged for Batelco Bulk SMS my phone bill?

A : Yes. Subject to approval of Batelco Sales & Marketing department, Batelco Bulk SMS charges may be settled on Batelco fixed line bills. For more information please send and email to bulksms@batelco.com.bh stating the nature of your business and requirements.

Q : Can I send picture messages, ring-tones, and operator logos using Batelco Bulk SMS?

A : Yes.

Q : How much does it cost to receive an SMS?

A : Batelco mobile users within the Kingdom of Bahrain are not charged for receiving SMS. This is the same case for most networks around the world. Although it should be noted that some GSM operators do charge their customer for receiving SMS messages.

Q : I'm not a Batelco subscriber and not a resident of the Kingdom of Bahrain, can I still use the Batelco Bulk SMS service?

A : The Batelco Bulk SMS Code of Conduct, is a legally binding document that provides the general guidelines required by Batelco Bulk SMS subscriber to follow when using the service.

Q : How do I "opt-out" to stop receiving promotional material or certain messages from certain senders?

A : Each message sent through the Batelco Bulk SMS service, has a unique name that appears as the message sender - it is called sender ID. To stop receiving messages from that particular source, send the following message:

UNSUB <sender ID>

to the phone number 4000, replacing <sender ID> with the name that appeared as the sender in the original message.

Q : How do I "opt-in" and request to receive messages after I have requested to unsubscribe?

A : If at any time you would like to reactivate your presence on a particular service in order to message from that source again send the following message

SUB <sender ID>

to the phone number 4000, replacing <sender ID> with the name that appeared as the sender in the original message.
