Get your laptop online with your Nokia mobile

  • As well as your mobile, you'll need a laptop with an infrared. If you haven't got one, get hold of an Intranet adapter or cable – but you'll need Nokia Data Suite software for that to work. Install the infrared modem driver using the CD that came with your phone.

  • If you haven't got the CD, you can download the software for most phone from the Nokia site ( www.nokia.com ). After you've installed that and restarted the computer, go to control panel – modems. You will see your PC has added your Nokia to the list of available modems.

  • You now need to choose your Nokia as the modem that your PC will use. Within Dial-up Networking in your Control Panel. Right-click on your internet connection and choose Properties in the menu. Within the dialog box that appears, select your phone from the Connect using menu. Then click Ok.

  • You'll then be able to dial-up. If you have problem dialing up in the usual fashion, go into Dial-Up Networking and double-click the connection to connect – just make sure your chosen connection is configured to use your Nokia.
